A new dermal filler, Emervel, has arrived in Australia, and I was privileged to demonstrate this new dermal filler on stage at the launch event in Sydney. Kerri-Anne Kennerley was the MC for the launch event, to which many of Australia’s doctors and nurses were flown in to attend. It was a grand event, that started with a fashion show! Each model was dressed to represent a different type of filler in the range; Volume, Lip, Deep, and Classic.

The highlight for all was the live injecting on stage to demonstrate the new range of dermal fillers. Dr.Christoph Martschin, a Swedish dermatologist, had been flown in to be a key opinion leader on Emervel. The dermal filler has been available in Europe for several years now, and Dr. Martschin has had extensive experience with the dermal filler during this time. I had the pleasure of treating a patient with him.  Also demonstrating were some of Australia’s finest cosmetic doctors and injectors, including Dr. Herve Raspaldo also attended from France.  There were demonstrations of cheek filling, jawline shaping, lip enhancement, and even nose enhancement on stage.

What is the key point of difference with this dermal filler? Well, traditionally, dermal fillers tend to be either firmer and lift the skin better, or softer and integrate into tissues better. Emervel is a unique range that  has both a high lifting capacity as well as tissue integration.  I have been particularly impressed with the Volume and Lip products in the Emervel range. The Volume product certainly is very versatile, and a little goes a long way. It has an amazing lifting capacity, and yet is soft so you could never feel it under the skin. Also the Lip product is an exciting new lip dermal filler designed specifically for lips! It really gives excellent structure and volume to the lips, and it causes a lot less swelling than other dermal fillers in the lips.
