Day 0 (The day before)

Feeling good.. Bit nervous.. Got my last bit of proper exercise in yesterday since I wont be able to do any for a couple of weeks.. Started using the Arnica today - Not loving the taste, but if it will help with the bruising it's all good. ** Please note black mark under umbilicus is a tattoo that has been blurred intentionally.

Day 1 (The day of)

I had the procedure done at 10am this morning, and it's currently about 6pm. I've been feeling okay for quite a while now.. For about the first 15 minutes after the procedure the pain was quite full on. After about 15 minutes, the pain mostly subsided and became insanely itchy.

For a while I was thinking along the lines of "What have I done?" because I wasn't going to be able to handle a few days of the pain and itchiness (the pain wasn't too bad, but the itching was driving me insane), but after about an hour, it went away entirely..

I looked at the area a few hours later, and it all looked hideously deformed and misshapen, but that's started to settle down quite well. The bruising isn't too bad either (Just a few spots where the injections were..

My entire lower torso has been tingling all day, but I don't know whether that's a result of the lipodissolve, or the numbing cream from this morning.. All in all, no real issues - It's very tender, and if I lean to either side too far I am in complete agony. But since my love handles were done, that's not really surprising - It just means that I have to be really gentle getting in and out of the car. Other than it being tender and tingling, no side effects yet.

*[Dr. Chan] Itchiness is a result of an additive called collagenase to help breakdown the fibrous tissues in between the fat.
We no longer use collagenase in addition to the Lipodissolve

Day 2 (Saturday)

After writing last night, the tingling passed and turned into a very cold feeling. If I touched my skin, it was warm (if anything slightly warmer than the rest of me) but the skin itself felt very cold - Almost as though I was wearing an ice pack around my waist.

I was expecting a fairly sleepless night, but slept very well. When I go to bed, I normally read for a while (on my side), and then go to sleep on my stomach. Since I've had my belly and love handles done, I expected not to be able to do either. But as long as I moved gently it was fine. Within 30 seconds of laying on my side or stomach I could barely even tell that there was anything different.

As of this morning, the bruising has started to come out a little more, and it feels very heavy (as though I'm wearing something around my waist) but that's about it. Anything where I compress my side of stomach (e.g. laying down or bending over) has to be done slowly and with a bit of care, but overall it's just a little uncomfortable.

I have mild diarrhoea, but nothing too bad (while I wasn't planning any day long trips, it's not like I need to stay within running distance of the toilet..)

Day 3 (Sunday)

Am feeling almost normal today. The parts that were injected are still bigger than normal, and I can feel it whenever I move, but they've gone down slightly.

I started the massaging today, and so have noticed just how different it feels - Everywhere that was injected is very hard. It almost feels like everything that was injected has just turned into this enormous solid mass beneath my skin. It's quite sore when I do the massaging - Not really painful - just sore. While most of it is tender when I do the massaging, it's especially sore on my abdomen and around my belly button (which has changed from it's usual circle shape to oval).

Diarrhoea appears to have gone.

Day 4 (Monday)

First day back at work - Because the areas that were injected are bigger than they used to be, I couldn't do my work pants up, and had to walk around all day with just the top undone.

No one noticed. I also forgot the Arnica today, and so didn't have any until I got home from work - I'm hoping that it wont make too much difference since I was taking it as I was supposed to up to that point.

The soreness has pretty much gone, except for when I'm doing the massaging (it still hurts a bit then). It's only been 2 days of the massaging, but I'm well and truly ready for that to be over. To look at my belly & love handles now, it just looks like I've put on a bit of weight (if it weren't for the bruises) instead of how it looked a few days ago (like someone had implanted chicken fillets under my skin..)

Very mild diarrhoea..

Day 5 (Tuesday)

I was planning to start exercising again today, but decided against it - Whenever I move and my belly moves too it's extremely uncomfortable to the point that I've started holding my stomach if I need to walk quickly or go up or down stairs. I think that it's a combination of the area being bigger than I'm used to, as well as it still being a bit tender.

While looking in the mirror this morning I noticed that everywhere that's been injected is a slightly different colour than the rest of me. On the first day, it was paler however now it's a yellow colour (like a very old bruise) It covers everywhere that's been done (including places that there weren't bruises originally).

Aside from my belly wobbling more than it used to, and feeling like it's pulling a bit if I do anything too vigorous, it feels completely normal now. Bigger, but normal..

Day 6 (Wednesday)

My belly and love handles seem to have gone down quite a bit over the past 24 hours. I'm not sure whether they have actually gone down or whether I'm just getting used to it.

The bruises are almost completely gone, even though I realised today that I was using half as much Arnica as I'm supposed to. It's only been 3 days of massaging but I'm sick to death of it already - I can see that the massaging is the part that I'm really going to have to force myself to do. Since my belly isn't feeling quite so big, I'm going to try to get back into some exercise tomorrow.

Day 7 (Thursday)

Pretty much the same as yesterday. The yellowish tinge seems to have mostly gone, but I could only see it previously in certain light so I can't be certain. It still hurts a little if I move too vigorously, so I've left the exercise until next week.

Another week and a half of massaging, and then a month and a half until the next treatment. While I'm not exactly looking forward to the next treatment, the fact that the first one went so well, and the hardcore discomfort only really lasted for a day, it wont really bother me when the time comes around..

Mild diarrhoea today..
