Liposuction Case Studies: Case Studies of Fat Reduction via Liposuction Treatments

Case Study 1 : abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs

This female presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute for liposuction of the hips, abdomen, inner and outer thighs. It was performed under local anaesthetic and 'twilight sedation' over two sessions spaced 1 month apart. Approximately 350mL of fat was removed from each hip, 450mL from each outer thigh, 300mL from each inner thigh, and 900mL from the abdomen. The priority of this patient was to achieve a smoother silhouette and keep the skin looking smooth. The amount of fat removed was therefore kept at relatively conservative levels to ensure that the skin would not lose its elasticity, and appear wrinkled or uneven after the procedure. The after photos depict the result approximately 3 months after the second liposuction.

Case study 2a : neck and jowls

This patient presents to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute for liposuction of her chin and jowls. She has had concerns about this area for some time now and finds the problem is getting worse. Liposuction was performed with light intravenous sedation as well as local anaesthetic infiltration to the area. The after photo was taken approximately 3 months after the procedure. There was a recovery period of approximately one week, with minor bruising and swelling.

Case 2b  : Neck and jowls

Case Study 4 : liposuction and fat transfer to buttocks

This patient presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute with concerns about her hips, flanks, and abdomen being out of proportion to the rest of her body. She also had concerns that her buttocks were flat. Liposuction was performed using power-assisted liposuction (PAL) to her hips, flanks and abdomen. Approximately 400mLs of this fat was then transferred to her buttocks to achieve a more shapely appearance.

Case study 5: liposuction to the buttocks, hips, waist, and outer thighs

This patient was in her late thirties, and presents with concerns that her buttocks and hips in particular were out of proportion to other parts of her body. This was a genetic problem, and she has always been proportioned this way, even at times when she was lighter. After having children, and putting on some weight, she decided to undergo liposuction to balance her figure. A relatively large volume liposuction was performed in a single session under intravenous sedation and the before and after photos (after photos taken 1 month later) were as follows;

Case study 6: Liposuction to male abdomen and hips

This patient presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute after having tried to reduce abdominal and hip fat through rigorous exercise, including running, with no success. Genetically, he said that he always has had 'female hips', and a bit of an abdominal buldge. The pictures show the results after one month only.

Case study 7: Liposuction to abdomen, hips, back, arms, inner thighs/knees, and fat transfer to buttocks (Brazillian Butt Lift)

This is a patient in her mid twenties who presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute with concerns about her abdomen, hips, arms, back fat, inner thighs, and inner knees. She also felt that she lacked shape in her buttocks. A two stage liposuction was performed, removing a total of 9.5L of fat. Approximately 600mL of this fat was transferred into her buttocks to give her buttocks a better shape.
