 Day 1
Preparation took a long time, but I enjoyed myself with the latest fashion magazines and had bit of 'me'  time. I was very relaxed but a bit excited. I have been taking anti-viral medications to prevent any cold sore outbreak after the procedure.
Numbing cream was put on my face with Glad Wrap on top. After one hour, the Glad Wrap was removed from my face and I went into the treatment room.

Dr. Gavin Chan performed the procedure with assistants. Dr. Chan talked me through the procedure and his talking relaxed me. The procedure was unpleasant mainly because the sound of was loud near my ears. There was some pain, particularly below the nose.

It took about 20 minutes to perform the procedure on the full face.

As I was driving home, my face became hot and I used Cosmedix ´Mystic Hydrating Spray'  and it soothed my face immediately. When I got home, I took a picture of myself, sprayed some more Mystic on my face and studied my face in the mirror and was relieved that my faced ok OK.

PM: My face stated to feel a bit tight. I took my evening dose of Famvir (anti-viral medication). Sprayed my face again with Mystic spray. Will sleep on my back tonight.

 Day 2
Slept very well. My face is red and tight except for a small area on my lower left cheek about 2 cm X 2cm, this area looks different to the rest of my face [Dr. Chan: this spot was due to the face being knocked. Antibiotics commenced to prevent infection on this spot]

Took Famvir first thing today and I think I will use the vinegar spray [Dr. Chan: vinegar mixed with water is used to spray on the face to reduce any itching sensations] and maybe the Vaseline for the tightness. Meanwhile I will use the Mystic Spray which is awesome.

Revisited my notes from Dr. Chan and I feel reassured that I am doing well. My daughter called in to take a look at my face and reassured me that she sees improvement. She also said that I may have the beginning signs of a cold sore but too soon to say.

Dr. Chan called to see how I am doing . I told him about the cold sore, and he said to increase my Famvir medication. Redness is disappearing this afternoon and the spot that I thought was a cold sore is not a cold sore after all. The Vaseline is working well and the general appearance is improving.

 Day 3
Slept well. Face is red. I think Dr. Chan is right and I will definitely need the full week off work.

Enjoyed my first shower and washed my hair.

The follow-up appointment with Dr. Chan went very well. He gave me a script for more Famvir and some antibiotics.

The face is at its worst today and I guess it is because it is day 3. My face is bright red.

Today is definitely the worst day so far. Took the antibiotics and used the (dilute) vinegar spray and I will go to bed.

 Day 4
Redness is more even and lighter today, and skin is tighter. The white circle on the left side of my cheek has disappeared altogether. My face feels slightly itchy. Yesterday was definitely my worst day and today I feel like I am on the recovery trail.

Pm: dark coloured skin started peeling off and I helped it with damp cotton pads soaked in vinegar. Two spots of blood burst but they were very minor.

 Day 5
My skin is flaking and sometimes itchy. I am so glad that I have the (dilute) vinegar mix because it is wonderful in helping to reduce the itch. Cleansed my face and used Mystic spray for a change and will follow up with Vaseline in dry patches.

Pm: all the dry skin has dropped off and I feel great.

 Day 6
I look awesome and I am ready to go back to work, but I promised Dr. Chan that I will not go back until Monday.

My overall appearance is good. The area under the eyes is the slowest area to heal.

Will go to see Dr. Chan for a check up and will be back at work Monday.

 Day 7
Today is the last entry in this journal because I have made a complete recovery and I look rejuvenated and feel beautiful.

My face is softer and particularly my nose, my nose feels so nice. My complexion is lighter and softer too.

I'm happy as I look 10 years younger. Dr. Chan has been awesome and really supportive.
