Question:

I AM HAVING SCAR BELOW MY LEFT EYE AND UNDERGONE SKIN GRAFTING 2 YEARS BEFORE AND THE PLACE NOW LOOKING VERY DARK AND SHINING.PLEASE GUIDE ME TO GET IMPROVEMENT.?

Answer:

For this type of scarring, it is probably best treated with a laser such as the Lumenis Ultrapulse CO2 (fractional mode) laser or the Fraxel laser . This may help to smooth out the scar and the transitions from normal skin to the graft. For the darkness, you could consider a skin lightener like Kligmans formula, however, this is prescription only and you will need to get this from one of our doctors.

Hi I am a 25 year old male, Asian skin suffering from acne. I have been on accutane once when I was 22. My cystic acne was cured but I had severely oily skin and mild acne afterwards. My Dermatologist put me on accutane again. This time on very low long term dose of 10mg per day for 1 year. I have had it for 8 months now and my acne is gone. However, I still have some very minor scarring and a few red spots on my cheeks. I was wondering if I could get a gentle microdermabrasion done since I am on such a low dose of accutane. If not, is there any other procedure to remove my red scarring that you would recommend. If so, please let me know and I will book in an appointment. Thanks

I have been looking on your website and would like some advise on skin treatments. I am 25 years old and have problems with acne. I have mild acne scars, active pimples and also blackheads and want to do something to fix these problems. Most of the time, even makeup doesn't cover the problems and it is very embarrassing. I live about 700km north of Melbourne so ideally I am looking for a treatment that can be done in 1 appointment so I do not have to travel a great distance often. Dear Vic Cosmetic Institute, I am contemplating getting several sessions of the Medlite laser treatment to help reduce the acne scarring that i have on my cheeks. The scars are pretty old (approx 10 yrs). I am prone to keloid scarring, and have keloid scars on both jaw lines as a result of severe chicken pox in my early 20s. I do get corticosteroid injections for the keloid scars probably once every 3-6 months to maintain them. Any suggestions and recommendations on the best treatments available on how to: 1) reduce the acne scarring 2) help maintain the keloids would be much appreciated. thank you.

I am 44 and have had old wrinkled hands since my late 20's it is something that runs in my family as even my younger brothers hands look like he's a 50 year old. Hi. I would like to inquire about Acne-scarring... I have never had a full acne breakout, however now that Im in my late 20's I've experienced consistent, one off breakouts for the past 8 years. Can you treat stretchmarks? I am getting EXTREMELY mixed information. I visited a plastic surgeon who claims the answer is unequivically NO. Websites claim fractionated CO2 and Fraxel have some success. I am 34 years old and have many on my thighs that bother me. I dont care about the white marks but the skin is indented and wrinkled. I am looking for something that will help the look of these. Afew of them are raised. I am petite only 48kg and have the marks from regular exersise. I am told just prone and very unlucky. Will a few fraxel treatments help to fill out the indentations and overall look of the skin? Have you had any happy clients?
