Dermal Filler Eyebrow Shaping Video

Dr. Gavin Chan performs a dermal filler treatment on a patient to decrease the skeletonisation of the upper brow. This softens the appearance of the bony prominences just above the eye and creates a more youthful appearance. Often excess skin is removed from the upper lid, but this can leave a hollow and sometimes a more aged appearance. Revolumising the upper lids is sometimes a good alternative to rejuvenating the upper lid.

In this Video Dr. Gavin Chan performs an eyebrow shaping procedure using an injectable dermal filler. The purpose of this technique is to soften the contour of the eyebrow, giving it a more youthful and smooth appearance.

The dermal filler eyebrow treatment is performed with the precise and careful insertion of a hypodermic needle into the area just under the hairs of the eyebrow line. The dermal filler solution is inserted slowly and then gently removed with Dr. Chan applying gentle pressure in a massaging-like motion.. The treatment continued with other specific insertion points being made around the eyebrow line as well as lower down on the eyelid A local anesthetic is applied to the area around the eye where the procedure was performed.

The purpose of an injectable dermal filler is to recontour and plump up the area surrounding the eye to minimize the appearance of drooping, sagging, or wrinkled skin. Injectable fillers smooth out areas of excess skin in order to give extra lift and volume to the face.

A dermal filler can be a temporary or long lasting solution. Facial sagging and wrinkling are normal results of the aging process that are exacerbated by things such as sun damage or squinting as well as everyday muscle movements like chewing, smiling, and yawning. These actions can break down skin tissues causing a drooping effect.

Dermal fillers are inserted into various sites around the eye to create the desired look. A session typically lasts around 10 to 20 minutes depending on how many insertion points are required. Recovery time is minimal and most people can resume normal activities immediately. However, sun exposure, strenuous activity, and contact sports should be avoided for at least 24 hours. Results may last from anywhere from several months to a year. Additional treatments may be needed to achieve and maintain the desired look.

There are few risks involved, however, sometimes minor bruising, swelling, redness, and mild discomfort are possible side effects of this procedure.
