This video discusses and demonstrates non-surgical rhinoplasty. This involves using a dermal filler to shape, straighten and make the nose more proportionate to help disguise bumps or deviations in the nose. The longevity of the procedure depends on the type of filler used, but can be from 6 to 18 months. Dr. Sara Read performs the procedure on one of our clinic's nurses. A before and after pictures is included in the video.
In this video, Dr. Sara Read performs a "10 minute Nose Job" (non-surgical rhinoplasty) on a patient, one of the nurses at the Victorian Cosmetic Institute. This patient has opted for a non surgical nose reconstruction instead of a surgical rhinoplasty. Dr. Read injects dermal fillers into the bridge of the nose with a needle to reshape and disguise the hump in the nose. Dr. Read also injects some filler into the tip of the nose to give it some lift. The patient has a nose with a prominent hook or hump that would normally be shaved down in rhinoplasty surgery, however, this procedure, though not changing the size of the nose, allows the bridge of the nose to be aligned by filling the area at the bridge to make the nose appear less aquiline, giving it a straighter and more blended profile.
Unlike surgical rhinoplasty procedure, this dermal straightening procedure is only temporary and, depending on the kind of filler that is used, the appearance can last from six to eighteen months. The particular filler that Dr. Read is using lasts for six months. There is some bleeding during the procedure, but the patient has been locally anesthetized with a numbing cream, and the fillers being injected also have anesthetic properties so there is little to no pain. This patient says that she feels only "a tiny bit of pressure." The results will be immediate, and without the usual bruising associated with the more invasive method.
