Non Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Case Study Video

In this video Dr Terri Labberton discusses non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. Dr Labberton describes the process by which clients request a 'freshening up' to reduce fine lines and accumulated wear and tear.

Dr Labberton  mentions that she takes a holistic approach to the face and review all of the various facial components are evaluated in order to discern small changes that can be made to improve the overall appearance of the face.  An existing patient; Yvonne is used to review and show the facial rejuvenation process. Dr. Labberton reviews the patient, keeping in mind the following process which may be able to assist including: anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and laser treatments. Radio frequency removal of moles and facial bumps is another effective rejuvenation service that can greatly improve overall facial appearance. Yvonne’s face is broken up into several components. Firstly wrinkle lines are assessed in order to determine whether anti-wrinkle injections can soften the appearance of expression lines, particularly around the forehead and mouth. The key component is this phase of assessment is how much anti-wrinkle injection is needed in order to reduce wrinkles without diminishing facial capacity for flexibility and expression.

Second, facial volume is assessed in order to reverse some of the normal facial weight loss that occurs naturally with age. Loss of facial fat in the mid-30's to early 40's results in diagonal lines across the face, which draws attention to the lower half of the face instead of the upper half, which is more desirable. Volume can be added -particularly to the cheek area - in order to reflect light in a manner that draws attention upward toward the eyes.

Third, skin texture and tone are assessed in order to determine the amount of capillary damage that can be corrected in order to diminish redness. Yvonne has some sun damage and the Dr suggests laser treatments for addressing skin tone and texture issues.

Finally Dr. Labberton suggests that not all these techniques have to be used in one go. Facial rejuvenation can be gone about in one of two ways; either as a total overhaul in a single go or as a process that covers the span of several months. The timeframe is therefore completely up to the individual patient and how much downtime they are willing to invest at a time, in terms of time off from work and social engagements.
