There is an enormous amount of planning that occurs in the lead up to a wedding. Choosing a venue, dress, cake, hair and make-up artists, cars, photographer, stationary and of course the groom! Your wedding is a special day where you and your groom make a commitment to each other to be there for better or worse and it is a day when every woman should feel and look their best. Afterall, when we look great we feel great.

So much consideration is given to the dress; will it flatter my figure? What shade of white is best for my skin tone? Who invented so many shades of white anyway!? We all know that hair and make-up is equally as important. Do I have wavy romantic locks or do I have an elegant updo? Do I colour my hair or go aunatural? Do I cut it before the wedding or do I grow it long? There are so many decisions to make to ensure we look our best and most photogenic on our big day.

At Victorian Cosmetic Institute we see many brides-to-be who want to look immaculate on their wedding day. More specifically we treat a lot of brides who want their skin looking flawless. Just like all wedding planning, all you need is a little preparation and the right tools to achieve glowing skin.

12 months

Skin concerns such as acne, deep acne scarring or pigmentation it is recommended to commence your new skin care regime 12 months prior to your wedding day. You will see some results in a much shorter period of time although for the best results it is best to allow plenty of time to treat these concerns so we can get your skin looking photo ready for your big day. Possible options include cosmeceutical skin care, skin needling, LED light therapy and laser treatment. With plenty of time to prepare you can safely have many treatments that require some downtime.

6 months

If your main concern is skin texture, tone and hydration you can start your wedding skin preparation as little as 6 months before your wedding. Dermafrac, chemical peels and our unique triple exfoliation microdermabrasion treatment are effective ways to improve skin tone and texture. When complemented with cosmeceutical skin care that you use at home your results will be accelerated in time for you to walk down the aisle.

2 to 3 months

With your wedding fast approaching now is the best time to have any anti-wrinkle injections (best for eliminating crows feet, frown lines and a gummy smile from appearing in your wedding photos) and dermal fillers for enhancing your features such as lips and cheeks. You can also make improvements to your skin texture with our triple exfoliation microdermabrasion treatment. With all the stress of wedding planning now is a good time for a hydration boost with Dermafrac. Combine your treatments with LED light therapy to boost your treatment and rejuvenate your skin.

1 month or less – eek!

Your wedding is almost here! With the day so close you could indulge in a relaxing VCI Signature Facial. Our Dermafrac and triple exfoliation microdermabrasion treatment can also be customised to be a luxurious, relaxing but very much a results driven treatment with minimal downtime. It is important to leave your chemical based make-up in your make-up bag and use a mineral make-up instead to avoid any last minute breakouts.

Most importantly, take the time to pamper yourself, relax and make sure you receive plenty of sleep. With all the planning behind you and fresh and clear complexion you will be ready to put your best face forward on your big day.
