Below are a series of case studies of procedures performed at Victorian Cosmetic Institute. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. You should discuss these with your surgeon.
Case study: Liposuction to abdomen, hips, waist, back, arms and Brazilian Butt Lift
In this case, we removed about 3 litres of fat from this patient’s abdomen, hips, waist, back, and arms and transferred about 1.2 litres of this fat into her buttocks to give her a more hour-glass shaped figure.
Case study : Male chest enlargement
Case study: neck and jowls
This patient presents to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute for liposuction of her chin and jowls. She has had concerns about this area for some time now and finds the problem is getting worse. Liposuction was performed with light intravenous sedation as well as local anaesthetic infiltration to the area. The after photo was taken approximately 3 months after the procedure. There was a recovery period of approximately one week, with minor bruising and swelling.
Case Study : liposuction and fat transfer to buttocks
This patient presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute with concerns about her hips, flanks, and abdomen being out of proportion to the rest of her body. She also had concerns that her buttocks were flat. Liposuction was performed using power-assisted liposuction (PAL) to her hips, flanks and abdomen. Approximately 400mLs of this fat was then transferred to her buttocks to achieve a more shapely appearance.
Case study : liposuction to the buttocks, hips, waist, and outer thighs
This patient was in her late thirties, and presents with concerns that her buttocks and hips in particular were out of proportion to other parts of her body. This was a genetic problem, and she has always been proportioned this way, even at times when she was lighter. After having children, and putting on some weight, she decided to undergo liposuction to balance her figure. A relatively large volume liposuction was performed in a single session under intravenous sedation and the before and after photos (after photos taken 1 month later) were as follows;
Case study : Liposuction to male abdomen and hips
This patient presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute after having tried to reduce abdominal and hip fat through rigorous exercise, including running, with no success. Genetically, he said that he always has had ‘female hips’, and a bit of an abdominal buldge. The pictures show the results after one month only. Note the ‘six pack’ is not etched into the fat. The fat thickness is fine enough for the true abdominal musculature to show through.
Case study : Liposuction to calves and ankles
This patient has previously had liposuction to her knees, thighs and calves about 20 years ago with virtually no result. She underwent liposuction again at The Victorian Cosmetic Institute, this time with modern liposuction techniques. She had power-assisted liposuction under intravenous sedation to her inner knees and lower legs (front and back). The results shown are after several months. There was a significant amount of swelling that persisted for a few months after the procedure, as swelling tends to gravitate towards the feet.
Case Study: abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs
This female presented to The Victorian Cosmetic Institute for liposuction of the hips, abdomen, inner and outer thighs. It was performed under local anaesthetic and ‘twilight sedation’ over two sessions spaced 1 month apart. Approximately 350mL of fat was removed from each hip, 450mL from each outer thigh, 300mL from each inner thigh, and 900mL from the abdomen. The priority of this patient was to achieve a smoother silhouette and keep the skin looking smooth. The amount of fat removed was therefore kept at relatively conservative levels to ensure that the skin would not lose its elasticity, and appear wrinkled or uneven after the procedure. The after photos depict the result approximately 3 months after the second liposuction.
Case Study: Liposuction to abdomen, back, waist, arms and neck with Brazilian Butt Lift
This patient presented to Victorian Cosmetic Institute for liposuction and fat transfer. This was performed over two procedures.
The first procedure was liposuction to her abdomen, waist hips, posterior axillary fold, arms and neck. This fat is cleaned and used in a fat transfer procedure to the buttocks for a Brazilian Butt Lift. A total of 3.5L was removed from the patient in her first procedure. 2L from the abdomen, 1.5L removed from the right hip, waist, posterior axillary fold, area lateral to breast, underarms and arms.
The patient’s second procedure was a more minor adjustment, removing a total of 1.4L. Liposuction through her back/bra fat area and sacrum removed 400mL each side and a further 600ml through the abdomen and mons pubis.
Case study: full body liposuction with fat transfer to buttocks
This patient had full body liposuction that was done over two procedures. Fat was transferred to the buttocks. The patient also lost weight after the procedures to achieve the final result.
Case Study: Inner knees and thighs
This patient presented to Victorian Cosmetic Institute with concerns of her inner knees and thighs. Having started back with an exercise program this area has always been difficult for her to shift. She had liposuction performed to these areas, removing approximately 1.5L of fat. The head start she wanted towards her new exercise plans!
