Question:

I recently had laser to remove my pigments on Saturday. It has been 3 days and my eyes are still slightly swollen and there are a huge amounts of brown spots all over my face. I am not sure whether they are pigments. It would appear that they are. I am extremely anxious as my face looks worse than what i started out.
I was told that the brown spots will flake off over a period of 2 weeks.
Could you please advise.

Answer:

It is normal to have a degree of swelling and darkening of pigmentation on the areas treated, and this usually lasts for about a week or two. I normally advise patients to put Bepanthen ointment on the treated areas several times a day. This prevents it from drying out too quickly, and promotes better healing.
