So you’re in the process of researching which clinic to attend for your anti-wrinkle or dermal fillers? To help you out, Victorian Cosmetic Institute have created a list of must-ask questions before choosing your clinic or practitioner.

1. Who will be performing cosmetic injections, and can I contact them directly should I have any questions?

Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers are Schedule 4 drugs and must be administered by a Doctor or a Nurse under the supervision of a Doctor. Victorian Cosmetic Institute is a cosmetic medical clinic which focuses primarily on anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers. Our practitioners can be reached directly by their patients, so if you have any queries after your treatment, they are available to answer your questions via email. Additionally, our Customer Care team is always ready to help or get you in contact with your Doctor; we are only a phone call away.

2. How experienced is the practitioner performing my cosmetic injections?

When choosing a provider for your cosmetic injections, you want to know that they are experienced in the treatment they are providing. As of March 2023, our Doctors and Nurses have performed over 74,000 anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments. They are continually kept up-to-date on the latest treatment products and methods through regular training and peer review meetings. You can view our team of Doctors and Nurses here.

3. Will the practitioner explore different options with me?

In order for you to make an informed decision, you should be presented with different options for treating your areas of concern as, more often than not, an aesthetic concern can be addressed in more ways than one. At Victorian Cosmetic Institute, we perform a thorough assessment of your facial proportions and present you with treatment options so you can make an informed choice and be included in your treatment decision.

4. Will I look the same as everyone else who has anti-wrinkle or dermal filler cosmetic injections?

There once was a time when people assumed that cosmetic enhancement meant looking like a frozen cat lady with a trout pout. With the rise of social media platforms such as Instagram, it is not unusual to see photos of people who often look like carbon copies of each other. With our focus on natural outcomes and using as little product as required, we work to help you look refreshed and not overdone. Often we can achieve this with as little as 1ml of filler to treat your entire face.

5. Do you offer an appointment to review my treatment?

Just like any other medical procedure, it is important that you have the option to have your cosmetic injections reviewed by your practitioner. The Doctors and Nurses at Victorian Cosmetic Institute encourage you to attend a review appointment two weeks after your treatment. Alternatively, you can opt for your practitioner to phone you two weeks after your treatment to follow up on your treatment outcome.

6. What is the difference between brands of anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers?

There are several brands of anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers available and approved for use in Australia. Victorian Cosmetic Institute uses a few different brands of dermal filler and will provide you with an unbiased opinion on which product is best suited to achieve your desired aesthetic outcome.

Whilst there are three anti-wrinkle brands available in Australia, we now choose to use only one. Our many years of experience have revealed that frequent use of other anti-wrinkle brands can cause immunity to the product. That means that the more often you have treatment, the more likely you are to require more units for the same area until, eventually, the treatment no longer works. The brand we use does not contain the complexing proteins contained in the other brands. It is these complexing proteins that you can develop immunity to.

Due to TGA advertising guidelines, we are not able to name the brands on our website.
