I have been interested in getting skin needling done for acne scarring. I have had wuite a bit if co2 fractional laser and have seen great improvement and also used a home roller which has helped but looking to get better results. I have had very 3 small keloids form on my jawline and also 2 on my shoulders. they have come over the last 7 yrs and seem to be spontaneous. am I still able to have skin needling?
Skin needling on the face can be done even in those with a history of keloid scarring. It is unlikely that the treatment will result in keloid scarring. Areas such as under the jawline, shoulders, and chest tend to be prone to keloids however.
You may like to consider a treatment with a Fraxel Laser.
Fractional lasers help to reorganise and regenerate collagen to
help to lift indented scars such as those from acne, or to smooth and
flatten traumatic or surgical scars. Because its delivery is fractionated, it allows for
effective treatment of skin with less downtime and less risk.
