I have been thinking for some time of having liposuction or lipodissolve just under my chin but am confused as to what procedure is best suited. I am very
fortunate though I have extremely firm skin it is just volume that I am concerned in this particular area. I am very interested also which procedure
is safer and less invasive and not as painful. Much appreciated. from ms
Liposuction will always be a more dramatic treatment than lipodissolve in terms of the results. Lipodissolve tends to have more variable results, require more than one session, and in the majority of cases, makes only a small difference. There is quite a significant degree of swelling with lipodissolve, and this can persist for a few weeks at times. Liposuction on the other hand, doesn’t tend to cause as much swelling. The procedure is a more lengthy one, that is usually done under intravenous sedation. The outcome can be seen quickly with liposuction, often a difference is perceived after a few days.
In regards to skin retraction, both tend to lead to a degree of skin tightening in conjunction with the fat removal. The skin in this area is like a spring in a way, and the less weight (fat) you have pulling down on it, the higher the skin pulls up. Of course, there are limitations, and for those who have significantly lax skin to begin with might benefit from a neck lift, possibly in conjunction with liposuction/lipodissolve.
Overall, if you are worried about under chin fat, liposuction is the way to go for the best results, unless you have reservations or health restrictions that are preventing you from undergoing surgery.
