Question:

Why can’t I be tanned when having laser hair removal?

Answer:

The laser is attracted to the melanin in hair. Melanin is also in your skin. The darker your skin, the higher the melanin content, and the more likely it would be for the laser to affect the skin. If you’re tanned we would have to reduce the settings on the laser accordingly for tanned skin, which may lessen the effect of the laser on the hair.
