The aim of abdominoplasty is to remove sagging skin and excess fat from the middle and lower abdomen. It also can involve a surgical tightening of the abdominal muscles. This is in cases where excess fat, skin, and sagging muscles have not been improved by diet and exercise - especially after pregnancy or caesarian section. Commonly called a tummy tuck≠, the surgery can be very effective in reducing the bulge caused by excess skin and fact and loose abdominal muscles. The result is a flatter, firmer and shapelier abdomen. This is a procedure available to both men and women.
This is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm.
Loss of weight or change of lifestyle to include exercise can alter the shape of the arms. Surgery on the upper arm can help to re-shape the skin and fat of the upper arm to improve the contour of the limb.
It may involve liposuction, removal of skin and fat, or a combination of both surgical techniques. Depending on how much loose tissue is present, the scars can be minimal and may be located in the skin of the arm pit, or in severe cases run the entire length of the upper arm.
For some men, surgery to remove the excess breast tissue may be the best treatment.
A thigh lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from the legs. It is not a surgical procedure for being overweight.
As with an arm lift, a thigh lift is a procedure often suited to individuals who have lost some weight, and have loose tissue on the inner thighs. In mild cases, liposuction alone can help, but most patients require removal of some loose skin and fat from the inner thigh, in combination with liposuction.
Cases of extreme weight loss require an extended incision down the length of the thigh, down to the knee.
Rhinoplasty is a common surgical procedure which reshapes the nose.
This can create distress for some clients, and reduce their visual field, particularly at the end of each day. By removing the excess skin on the upper or lower eyelids, a more youthful appearance can be achieved.
A Browlift, or ìforehead liftî, is a surgical procedure to reduce the angry, lined or tired look of the brows by reducing skin and repositioning the muscles in the brow. It can create a subtle, rejuvenated appearance or a significant arch of the eyebrow.
In many cases, brow lift has now been superceded by injectable products that are able to reduce the pull of gravity on the brow, allowing it to elevate.
However, in some instances, the brow has fallen so much that surgery is required to re-suspend it into its correct position. Generally this can be achieved via a number of small incisions in the hairline, and it can be undertaken as day case surgery.
As we get older, the skin in the neck tends to sag, and fatty deposits accumulate under the chin. These can be addressed either as part of a face lift procedure or sometimes as a separate procedure, using a combination of liposuction and a small incision to tighten the muscles under the chin.
A neck lift can be used to; tighten loose skin, remove excessive fat, reduce a double chin, reduce jowls, define the jawline, and to reduce the appearance of the stringy muscles of the neck.
The neck and jawline are shaped by an underlying muscle called the platysma. With age, this muscle, along with the skin, tends to sag. Various techniques can be used depending on your needs. Usually an incision in the neck is made, although it can be done with a thin telescope (endoscope). The platysma muscle is tightened and as this is attached to the skin, there is also associated skin tightening. For excess fatty tissue in this area, liposuction can be performed.
Ear surgery
Otoplasty is a surgical procedure to change the angle and shape of protruding or uneven ears in children and adults. Otoplasty is also called pinnaplasty, or ìpinning back the earsî, or correction of the ears.
The surgeon reshapes part of the cartilage in the ears, allowing them to lie closer to the side of the head, and reproducing natural folds that may be absent in the normal ear.
In some situations, if the size and shape of the ears do not match, the surgeon may work on only one ear to make it more similar in shape and appearance to the other ear. There are a number of options available.
